INITIATIVES The employment unit engaged in the following broad outreach initiatives in accordance with various elements of FCC Rule 73.2080(c6): Participated in job fairs by station personnel who have substantial responsibility in making hiring decisions. The Lao New Year Program. A week-long event in May, 2005. The program included job fair booths as well as booths for community concerns including health. Attended by the stations? Laotian Program Director. Participated in events sponsored by organizations representing groups present in the community interested in broadcast employment issues, including conventions, career days, workshops, and similar activities.

January 2005, New California Media Business Seminar at the Fresno Convention Center. NCM is a national organization of over 700 ethnic media groups. The event is designed for both recruitment and sales opportunities. Attended by stations? managers. Participated in scholarship programs designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. February 2005, Central California Forum for Refugee Affairs Scholarship. Winners each received ,000. List each upper-level category opening in a job bank or newsletter of media trade groups whose membership includes substantial participation of women and minorities. The KBIF ?on air job opportunities? features PSAs in the Hmong and Loa languages. KIRV ?on air job opportunities? features PSAs in Armenian, Spanish and English languages.
